When the snow disappeares, the splendor of summer unfolds in the Oetztal. Dense forests, exciting rock formations and rushing rivers form the framework for almost 700 km of official mountain bike trails of varying difficulty for downhill, freerider or touring bikers. From simple mountainbike tours to extreme single-track trails that are hard to cope without experience.

Ranging from easy climbing routes for beginners up to difficulty rank 11 for professionals,the Oetztal has it all. Steep walls, high cliffs, mighty mountain ranges and countless peaks offer all the sports and alpine climbing variations there are. With a huge variety of different climbing areas the Oetztal leaves no wish unfulfilled!

Outdoor Sports
Rafting in the Oetztal:
There are different rafting routes in Tyrol - places like Haiming, Sautens, Oetz and Oetztal Bahnhof have become the absolute outdoor center. From all over Europe and beyond outdoor enthusiasts are coming to learn under the expert guidance of local professionals how to maneuver the breathtaking canyons and master the wild currents. The Oetztal offers a veritable paradise for beginners and for advanced whitewater sports.

Canyoning in theOetztal:
In addition to hiking, there is still another interesting way to learn about the mountain streams of the Oetztal valley: Canyoning.
This sport is especially popular with nature lovers and has enjoyed increasing popularity since the 90s. For beginners, the Oetztal valley has become very popular because its numerous mountain streams and gorges offer the best possible conditions for this thrilling outdoor event.
Hiking
In the Oetztal valley you will find over 1.000 km of well developed and varied trails that lead through forests, over glaciers and peaks, passing many typical Tyrolean mountain villages and rural communities, mountain huts and hostels. Attractive destinations are e.g. the warmest lake in Tyrol, the Piburger lake, the highest mountain in Tyrol, or Obergurgl, Austria's highest parish village. The largest glacial area in the eastern Alps is located in the Oetztal valley, also more than 250 3000m mountain peaks, of which about 60 are over 3,000 meters high.

Swimming
With countless swimming pools the Oetztal valley is a paradise for water lovers. Water slides, volleyball courts and special areas for children make for a beautiful experience of your summer holidays. But not only youngsters find their experience. With the Spa "Aqua Dome" in the village of Längenfeld the Oetztal valley offers relaxation for those who seek a bit of respite.
With a total of 9 swimming pools - 2 of them open year-round - the Oetztal valley offers a variety where everyones taste can be satisfied.
